چکیده
To quantify the influence of temperature uncertainty on thermal fatigue life prediction a shot sleeve in an injection mechanism, analysis method based Kriging surrogate model and Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) was proposed. The training samples were obtained by finite element simulation, response relationships between input variables, such as pouring preheating temperature, target strain stress, constructed model. variables sampled MCS, predicted stress parameters combined with modified universal slope equation to predict sleeve. statistical characteristics obtained. comparative results indicate that considering is more accurate than deterministically value.

Side Effects of Shot Peening on Fatigue Crack Initiation Life
Shot peening beneficial effects on fatigue life of mechanical components are well known. However, there are some reports in the literature that indicate inappropriate shot peening parameters tend to reduce the fatigue life. It is therefore, the purpose of this study to find a logical quantitative justification for these observations. Using finite element method, a dynamic elastic-plastic simula...

Strength reduction in structures like an aircraft could be resulted as cyclic loads over a period of time and is an important factor for structural life prediction. Service loads are emphasized at the regions of stress concentration, mostly at the connection of components. The initial flaw prompting the service life was expected by using the Equivalent Initial Flaw Size (EIFS) which has been re...

Photon absorbers, masks, and shutters of the third-generation light sources are subjected to intense thermal stress cycles from the high intensity x-ray beams. A collaborative research study is underway at APS and ESRF to establish thermal fatigue design criteria for Glidcop® Al-15, which is commonly used for high-heat-load components. A nonlinear finite element methodology is used for modeling...
متن کاملInfluence of Residual Stress on Fatigue Life of Hot Forged and Shot Blasted Steel Components
Hot forging is a common manufacturing process for the production of large quantities of engineering components. Residual stresses are developed in forged components as a result of various aspects of the manufacturing process, including subsequent cooling, and heat treatment. Residual stresses can significantly affect the deformation and fatigue failure of materials. Hot forged EN15R steel bars ...
متن کاملStudy and Simulation of Shot peening Effect on Fatigue Life of a Powder Forged Connecting rod
Shot peening applies a residual compressive stress field (RCSF) on the surface of parts. It also shifts “crack nucleation sites” to sub-surface locations. A nondestructive method of measuring the stresses, Sin2ψ was utilized here and the stress values introduced to Ansys software. For this purpose, uniform stress in all directions was applied on the con rod. Loading on the rod in Ansys had thre...
